Smethwick who were awarded second place had entered an image which had previously been entered in a previous competition. As a result of this 14 points were taken off their score, as a result they were relegated to sixth place, meaning that our club moved up one place into fifth position. Under the new rules, instituted this year, each Federation counts its best 10 photographs in each section and this has resulted in much closer competition with some unexpected results. It is held in the 550 seat tiered theatre within The Arts Centre complex of the University of Warwick. The University is just a few miles south west of Coventry, off the Coventry-Kenilworth Road (A42g). There are Bar and Catering facilities within the building and ample free Car Parking.Two Clubs from each of the 15 Federations, together with the top 9 placed clubs from the 2015 Championships will compete to find the Champion Club for 2016. There are cups and/or trophies awarded to first placed pictures, certificates for second and third places and a number of certificates of merit, in the four Print and four PDI sections of the exhibition, consisting of the following categories: Novice, Colour, Monochrome and Nature. He gained an Associateship of the RPS with traditional darkroom monochrome prints, and a Fellowship with digital colour prints. he serves on the RPS Licentiateship panel, the Visual Art Associateship and Fellowship assessment panel, and provide advice at distinction workshops. He will discuss the creative process that he uses, both when out shooting and, subsequently, when producing his prints showing a variety of prints culminating in those he produced to earn his RPS Fellowship. Rolls Royce won the first round and they also won the second round, as a result Rolls Royce was declared the winner of the 2016 competition. Bill Hall our chairman was presented with the trophy by Ashley Franklin, President of Derby City PC.
